Rules and Regulations

“EVERY CLASS OFFERED HERIN WHICH IS COVERED BY THE RULES AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CURRENT UNITED STATES EQUESTRIAN FEDERATION (“USEF”) RULEBOOK WILL BE CONDUCTED AND JUDGED IN ACCORDANCE THEREWITH”
STALLS-Stalls are permanent (vinyl & steel), 10X10, with doors.  Doors MAY NOT be removed. Exhibitors will be responsible for damage to the stalls.  Stall fee is $110 (no first bedding included).  Assigned on a first come basis.  Stall fees are not refundable after the closing date. Do not split payment of tack stalls.
ARRIVAL TIMES-Stalls will be available after 8:00 a.m. on Monday April 21, 2008 and must be vacated no later than April 27, 2008.  Prior arrangements with management MUST be made for exceptions to these arrival/departure times and dates.  Due to another horse show the weekend before River Ridge, early arrivals may not be possible.  Check with show management.
ACCOUNTS-All entries must be accompanied with a check or money order payable to the River Ridge Charity Horse Show and mailed to the Show Secretary.  All fees are stated in US currency.  Mastercard or Visa may be used for payment of fees.  Please see separate form in this prize list. All accounts must be paid at the Horse Show Office before Entry Numbers will be given out.  STALLS will not be reserved unless paid in full.  A SIGNED open check must be left in the office prior to packets being distributed.  The Horse Show WILL NOT be open on Sunday morning following the show.  Accounts must be settled before 9:00 PM on Saturday evening.  No adjustments to accounts will be made after Saturday evening.
SCHOOLING-Before the show - Monday till dusk and Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and then under the lights from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM During the show– Show ring will be open until 1 hour prior to each session. Show ring size is 150 X 300; Warm up area size is 100 X 200
PRE-ENTRIES-Entries close April 5, 2008.  Entries postmarked after the closing date will be considered late entries and will be assessed a $25.00 per horse late fee.  Entry blanks must be  completed in full, signed and accompanied by full payment and applicable membership cards.  No entry will be processed without the aforementioned being complete.  A non-refundable $15.00, per horse ,office charge will be assessed. NO REFUNDS.
CHANGES & SCRATCHES-All changes and scratches must be completed 2 hours before the start of each session.  Entries added during a session will be charged at double the entry fee.  Entry fees from timely scratched classes may be credited toward another class entered.  No refund will be given.
PAYMENTS-A penalty of $50.00 will be charged for all returned checks.  Cash or certified funds must replace returned checks.  No one will be allowed to show if they have a check or handling fee outstanding or outstanding feed & bedding bill
OFFICE HOURS– The Horse Show Office hours will be posted at the office entrance.  All accounts must be settled by 9:00 PM Saturday April 26, 2008.
COGGINS TEST-All out of state horses must have a current negative Coggins Test dated within six (6) months of the show dates, before entering the show grounds.  To speed   processing, please send a copy with your entries.  Health Certificates for all out of state horses may be required.
MEASUREMENT TIMES-Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 10:00 at a located to be  determined, if necessary.  Further measurement times will be announced by show    management.
CHANGE OR CANCELLATION-Management reserves the right to combine or cancel any class having less than three (3) entries.  Management reserves the right to change or alter the officials listed without notice prior to or during the show.
RING PROCEDURE-In classes which show collectively, two minutes will be allowed after the first horse enters the ring.  At the end of the two minutes, the gate will be closed and the class will proceed.
FOOTING-The footing will be a dirt/sand base with shavings.
DOGS-Dogs will not be permitted on the premises unless retained on a leash.  Stable dogs must be confined at all times.  Any owner of a dog found loose in the Show Ring during a competition will be fined $100.00 and be responsible for the entry fee(s) of the horse(s) whose performance(s) may be disturbed.
AMERICAN SADDLEBRED MEMBERSHIP-All owners and trainers at USEF recognized competitions rated “A” in the Saddlebred sections must be current members in good standing with the American Saddlebred Horse Association, Inc.  This horse show is rated “A” in those sections.  Please put your membership numbers on the entry blank and enclose a copy  of your card with your entries.
UPHA MEMBERSHIP-All riders and trainers that show in any of our UPHA classes must be members, in good standing, of the United Professional Horseman’s Association, at the time of the horse show.  Please put your membership numbers on the entry blank and enclose a copy of your card with your entries.
ASSOCIATION FEES-Money for any/all association membership fees (ie: USEF, ASHA, AHHS, UPHA) must be made payable to the Associations by using a separate check for each association.
GOLF CARTS/SCOOTERS-Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of USEF recognized competitions.  Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense.  Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance    devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from the rule.  See USEF Rule GR301-5(a) for the complete details.
BOX SEATS-A limited number of seats are available at $15.00 per seat.  Please order on entry blank.
CAMPERS– Camping spaces are available at a charge determined by the Ohio Expo Center..  This includes water, electric, sewage.  Payable at the entrance of the Ohio Expo Center.  Tow vehicles used to enter and leave the Exposition grounds are required to purchase a parking permit in addition to paying camping fees.
PARKING-There will be a charge on every vehicle entering the fairgrounds.  A permit sticker for four days, five days or longer, may be purchased at the gate.  TRAILERS OR VEHICLES MAY BE PARKED ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE STALLING AREAS, (north or west of the complex) BEHIND THE FACILITY.  Trailers are NOT to be parked south of the Coliseum.  As soon as possible after unloading, you must remove your vehicles from the loading zones.  Failure to adhere to the above restrictions will be cause for towing.
MORGAN CROSS ENTRIES-Morgans may cross enter if all criteria is met.
RING ATTENDANTS-T-Shirts and jeans are NOT considered proper attire for      attendants in the ring.
UPHA $250 ADDED CLASSICS-Open to mares, geldings, and stallions, three (3) years old and under, Morgans, four (4) years old, registered with the UPHA.  The owner and trainer must be a UPHA member.  Nominating fees must be paid to UPHA by April 1, 2008.  A declaration fee of $50.00 is due by the closing date of April 3, 2007 with  your entries.  A showing fee is payable twenty four (24) hours prior to the scheduled Classic.
